Allison Kunath Collection
We collaborated on this collection of beautiful glass candles with California-based artist, Allison Kunath, known for her minimalist aesthetic, ethereal geometric watercolors, graceful figurative abstractions, and awe-inspiring murals. Kunath drew each figure with one single unbroken line "capturing the essence of feminine grace, strength, and beauty." Ten percent of the proceeds from the sale of each one of these candles will be donated to Planned Parenthood, Equality Now, and CHANGE (Center for Health and Gender Equity).

Engraved on the bottom of each vessel is Allison's signature, so you are forever left with one of her works, even after the candle burns out. The fragrances we created for each candle are meant to calm and center, to uplift and inspire.
SCENTS
MOJAVE EMBERS
Inspired by the smell of smoke in your hair the morning after a campfire, and dusty desert roads at night. Notes of clove and pine float above a heart of smoky incense and damp moss anchored by a woodsy, musky base of birch, amber, vanilla, santal, and cedar.
PETRICHOR
Inspired by the scent of the California High Desert after the first rain of the season. Creosote, desert sage, and sun baked rocks. Lighter florals of lavender, desert rose and earthy agave contrast beautifully with herbaceous wild thyme and sage brush and a base of dusty woods, wild musk, and patchouli.
SAFFRON BLOOM
Inspired by an altar offering incense, herbs and sweet honey. Tobacco, leather, and rich black soil. A spicy saffron top note highlights a heart of elemi, incense, and moss over a rich base of cashmere wood, patchouli, birch, and olibanum.

Each of our candles is wicked, poured, and labeled by hand from start to finish by our team of artisans in our studio space in Industry City, a hub of makers, designers, artists, and small businesses. About Our Founder－TAMARA MAYNE
Tamara Mayne is fragrance obsessive and designer who founded Brooklyn Candle Studio in 2013. A former art director in the fashion industry, she sought to create beautifully packaged natural candles at an affordable price point.
Originally from Virginia, Tamara studied Studio Art and Economics at the University of Virginia before moving to New York City. After working a series of jobs in finance and tech, her desire to work in a creative field led her to enroll in the Fashion Institute of Technology to study Graphic Design in 2009.
She was working as a designer and art director in 2012 when she decided to make candles as gifts for family with a candlemaking kit from her local craft store and became deeply obsessed with aromatherapy and the art of candlemaking. The rest, of course, is history.
